When transfering your domain, you'll be given options to add hosting and an email account. You don't really need this. If your using your domain with your lead capture page, you don't need additional hosting since we already host your pages for you. And, you probably don't need to add on another e-mail account since one comes FREE with your domain transfer and you can always upgrade that, if you need.
IMPORTANT: Before you follow the steps below to begin the transfer process, make sure your administrative email address at your current domain registrar is correct.
After completing your tranfer order...
- Log into your MDT ("MyDomainTags") Account
- "Click Pending Domain Transfers" (under "My Account")
- Check the domains you are transfering
- Click the "Authorization" button and select "Begin Transfer Authorization"
Check your e-mail for an e-mail from support@secureserver.net
(Scroll down to the bottom of the e-mail for the "Transaction ID" and "Security Code"
Go back and enter the "Transaction ID" and "Security Code" into the proper fields and click "Next"
Select "Authorize" and click "Next"
- Open a new browser or tab window
- Log into the your old domain provider's domain manager (We are using Yahoo!® for this example)
- Make sure your domain is set to "Unlocked"
- Copy your "Authorization Code" (Some domain providers will e-mail this to you)
Go back and enter your "Authorization Code" into the proper field and click "Finish"
Click "OK" (You don't have to wait for processing)
That's it!
It can take up to 5 days for your domain registrar to approve the transfer. If, after 5 days, you don't see your tranferred domain in your "MyDomainTags" manager and you haven't received an e-mail update, you should follow-up with your old domain provider.
